Directions to St. Joseph Bay State Buffer and Aquatic Preserves Center

From North/East (Tallahassee, Apalachicola) on U.S. Hwy. 98:

Go west past Apalachicola approximately 6 miles on U.S. Hwy. 98.

Turn left off U.S. Hwy. 98 at the curve onto CR-30. (You will see a brown sign for Rish Park just before the left turn.)  Continue on CR-30.

After approximately 12 miles, the road will curve to the North.  Stay on the same road which is now called SR-30A.  Keep right after the sharp curve (DO NOT turn left on CR-30E which goes to Cape San Blas and the State Park).

Continue for another 2.25 miles and the Preserves Center will be on your left (bay side of the road).  The Center has a large deck connecting 3 ivory buildings with turquoise roofs.

 

From West (Panama City) on U.S. Hwy. 98:

Go east out of Panama City on U.S. Hwy. 98.

Proceed through Port St. Joe (Gulf County).  Turn right onto SR-30A, approximately 2 miles past the Port St. Joe traffic lights (you will see a sign for Cape San Blas at the right turn).

Continue on SR-30A through Simmons Bayou, approximately 4.5 miles.

Look for the small brown sign indicating St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve Center 1 mile.

Preserves Center will be on your right (bay side of the road).  The Center has a large deck connecting 3 ivory buildings with turquoise roofs.
